Pinay maid in SG gets US$4 million from her employer, Pinoys in RP get angry

“Christine,” a Filipina maid in Singapore inherits some US$4 million from her employer. She declines to give her real name “for fear of possible threats to her life in the impoverished Philippines, where wealthy people have been kidnapped for ransom and some killed by their abductors.”

Butthurt ‘nationalists’ are now duking it out on the comments thread because Yahoo, which hosts the blog the piece was posted on, is apparently hating on Filipinos and the Philippines.

The maid refused to be named in public for fear of possible threats to her life in the impoverished Philippines, where wealthy people have been kidnapped for ransom and some killed by their abductor <——— DID THIS PRESUMPTION COME FROM A RESPECTABLE CREATURE?…are there real editors here?

Join the fun before the haters crash the server with all their hate.

UPDATE: It’s still on fire.

  1. I wonder if the people commenting on the article live in a kind of Bizarro Philippines or something.

  2. The main issue, I think, is the use of the word “impoverished” to describe the Philippines. It’s not like there are any poor people in this country or anything.

  3. Jesus those comments make me rage.

Why can’t they just be happy for the maid? This news is about her and they’re turning it into some nationalistic crusade.

  4. I am not a Philiphino hater. I am a Philiphino lover. I attack Filipino so that they will change so I can love them most. A person cannot be nice to a Filipino to change. I TRIED IT. NEVER WORKED. IT NEVER WORKED FOR THE PAST 480 YEARS since 1521. IT WILL NEVER WORKED TODAY.

    SO A-T-T-A-C-K!!!!!

  5. Filipinos are ing-git, jealous by nature. How they hate if their neighbors become more affluent. They start rumor like this, “Saan kaya galing yun’ pera nila” this statement starts the wildfire. They conjure evil scenarious, “aaah, siguro, alam mo na, you know, hindi ku lang masabi sa inyo” This response is double-sided, hard to attack in court. The “hindi ku lang masabi” may mean, he works as hotshot in some multi-national, OR, a corrupt official. Philiphinos multi-facted doble-karra, double-sided is because of the Bible. The bible is double-sided, multi-faceted meaning. We got it from the bible!

Thank you God! Thank you very much. This is what the Filipinos learnt from you.

  6. I really want to comment further but I can’t see the other remarks people make. How do I solve this? Is there any way or settings that I have to change from my browser? Thanks
