Elsewhere in simplicity to show solidarity with the people, Davao Oriental governor Cora Malanyaon trumps Vice President Jejomar Binay who rode an electric jeepney to the inauguration yesterday.
Gov. Malanyaon rode an un-electric tricycle from the capitol to the provincial hospital to kick off a campaign that had more than 100 tricycles repainted pink.

Supposedly, this will make it easier for patients and hospital staff to identify the tricycles that can go to the hospital. This saves time, I guess, because otherwise, you’d have to ask the driver. Still, hooray for political gestures!
